Tucker Carlson More Popular Than Fox News

After Fox News “parted ways” with top-rated host Tucker Carlson, Rassmussen Reports conducted a poll that found Carlson is slightly more popular with respondents than the network that fired him.

Rassmussen surveyed 945 likely voters and found that 59 percent view Tucker Carlson favorably, including 36 percent who have a “very favorable” view of him. Only 34 percent of respondents said they have an unfavorable view of the primetime host, including 25 percent who have a “very unfavorable” view.

Meanwhile, 52 percent of respondents have a favorable view of Fox News, including 24 percent who have a “very favorable” view. Another 42 percent view Fox unfavorably, including 28 percent who have a “very unfavorable” view.

When asked if they thought Fox News will be “better” or “worse” with Carlson off the air, only 19 percent said Fox will be better while 32 percent said Fox will be worse without Carlson. Another 42 percent said Carlson’s ouster will make no difference to the network at all.

Among Republican voters, 71 percent have a favorable view of Tucker Carlson and 61 percent have a favorable view of Fox News. Only 21 percent of Republican respondents view Tucker unfavorably while 33 percent have an unfavorable view of Fox News.

When Republicans were asked if Fox News will be “better” or “worse” without Carlson, only 13 percent said Fox will be better while a plurality, 47 percent, said it would make Fox worse.

Among respondents who identify as conservative, 83 percent view Tucker Carlson favorably while 12 percent have an unfavorable view of the former host. Meanwhile, 66 percent of conservatives have a favorable view of Fox News while only 29 percent view the cable network unfavorably.

When asked if Fox News will be “better” or “worse” with Tucker gone, 49 percent of conservative respondents said the network will be “worse” while 22 percent said it would be “better.”
