Texas Issues Travel Warnings

(ConservativeCore.com)- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw has warned against traveling to Mexico due to the country’s “volatile character.”

The strong recommendation came after the disappearance of three Texans and their brush with the cartels, which resulted in bloodshed.

Lt. Chris Olivarez echoed the earlier caution, urging Spring Breakers, in particular, to stay away from Mexico, saying they owe it to the public to provide information about potential dangers in public places or during travel.

He said the rising rate of violence and kidnappings in Mexico makes it unsafe to go there at this time and that he “couldn’t emphasize enough to anybody contemplating about taking a Spring Break trip to Mexico.”

According to the Nuevo Leon Attorney General’s Office, the three Texas women disappeared after visiting a flea market in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon State, about three hours from the border. They were in a green 1990s Chevrolet Silverado.

The spouse of one of the missing ladies had phone contact with her throughout the trip but became worried when he couldn’t reach her again after she returned.

This is the second high-profile abduction this month; two weeks ago, four Americans were abducted and murdered on a visit to the border town of Matamoros, not far from Brownsville, Texas.

On March 3, the group of four was set to go on a trip so that Latavia “Tay” McGee, one of the survivors, may get plastic surgery. At noon, they were attacked with gunfire in central Matamoros and then bundled into a pickup vehicle. When one buddy who stayed in Brownsville and tried to contact the others failed, that person contacted the authorities.

The attorney general of Tamaulipas stated that five individuals had been apprehended in connection with the event. The Scorpions subgroup of the Gulf cartel turned over the five suspects along with an apologetic letter to the community, the family of the Mexican man killed in the crossfire, and the four American ladies and their children.
