Slipknot Member Sid Wilson Injured in Bonfire Explosion

Slipknot turntablist Sid Wilson was severely injured in a bonfire explosion at his farm in Iowa on August 26, suffering serious burns on his arms and face. On his Instagram account, Wilson showed his facial injuries and said that while these were very painful, everything was going to be alright, and he felt confident of a successful recovery.

The 47-year-old musician, who is also the partner of Kelly Osbourne, said in a video he published on Instagram that he knew that his current appearance made him look “crazy right now.” Since the moment of the accident, he has published some posts and Instagram stories delivering updates on his condition and his recovery.

In the first post he published about the accident, Wilson showed some pictures and videos of him lying in a hospital bed while undergoing X-rays. He said on that post that he had an explosion on his face and had some serious burns on his cheeks and face. He also said that the most painful injuries were the ones he suffered on his arms, which were also burnt and made him feel such great pain that he was “shaking.” However, the Slipknot turntablist said he was feeling ok and was going to be ok.

In another post, Wilson said that while both of his arms were “pretty bad” and his mouth was “all blistered,” he would recover no matter and would be part of the band’s next tour. He explained that the main things that give him the necessary strength to keep going and fight for his recovery are not only his family but also the will to play in front of his fans again. While Slipknot suspended the next show at Rocklahoma, the band wished Wilson a fast recovery and said that he would be with them on the next shows despite the accident, as that’s what he requested.

One of the videos published by Wilson showed Osbourne applying some dressings on his wounds while blaming him for what happened. In that video, blood can be seen splattered on the floor and the wall, with Osbourne saying that she would clean everything as the accident left “blood spots everywhere.”

In another video he published on Instagram, Wilson can be seen shaving the affected areas on his face and cheeks. He also looked on the camera and said he looked “ugly” and “like a clown. However, he also said he was grateful for being alive and explained that it was all because of Osbourne, who had been his “nurse” throughout the accident.

Slipknot, which is considered one of the greatest Nu Metal bands of all time, published on their Twitter account that Wilson had a “terrible accident.” The band also said that they would support him in such a difficult moment, that their tour wouldn’t be canceled, and that the 47-year-old turntablist would remain in the band no matter what.
