Prince Harry and Meghan’s Colombia Tour Draws Criticism for Hypocrisy

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing criticisms and accusations of hypocrisy for traveling to Colombia and participating in several events while insisting they want privacy and are unsafe without intense security. The couple arrived in Bogata at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez and spent much of their time meeting local people and participating in cultural tours. They met with veterans and Invictus Games competitors and took part in a panel discussion on digital safety – a cause the couple has adopted through their Archewell Foundation.

Nevertheless, the couple faced intense scrutiny from Royal watchers, including Hilary Fordwich, who said Harry and Meghan were on another leg of their “worldwide privacy tour.” Fordwich, who refers to the Prince as “hypocritical Harry,” also noted that the couple’s complaints about lack of security suddenly appeared irrelevant. She likewise wondered about their “carbon footprint” as they travel the world. “You can always address people via Zoom,” she stated.

Additionally, Ms. Fordwich questioned what Meghan Markle would wear for her events, given that she turned up at a Harlem high school dressed in expensive designer gear. “One of the outfits she wore was the same as a year’s salary for some of those people,” the Royal expert pointed out.

On the final day of their four-day visit to the Colombian capital, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a salsa dance during a trip to the headquarters of a youth organization, Jóvenes en Cali. Video footage posted online shows the Prince swinging his wife around the dance floor before the couple enjoyed a romantic kiss.

Bogata describes itself as the world’s salsa capital, and Meghan reportedly worked on perfecting her moves before the trip. According to old pals, salsa has been among the Duchess’s favorite passtimes for many years. A former classmate from Northwestern University shared a photo of Markle dancing on Instagram with a caption reading, Salsa lessons with the then future-to-be Duchess Of Sussex, in college.”

Markle also showed off her Spanish skills during the trip, including translating her husband’s remarks.
