The story of British Prince William and Kate Middleton is one we’ve heard a million times. The Royal couple have long been the most popular in the family, not just in Britain but overseas, and the announcement earlier in the year that Kate was being treated for cancer shocked the world. It should come as no surprise, then, that a brand-new book about the pair is on the market – and it even contains some never-before-heard stories.
According to excerpts of a new biography of the Princess of Wales published in recent days, Prince William – the future King of England – dumped girlfriend Kate in a half-hour phone call, only for her to win him back while wearing…a nurse’s uniform.
In Robert Jobson’s latest book, readers are treated to a ton of new insights about their past, including a story from their time in school. During their second academic year, the book reveals, Kate and William moved into a student house with two other friends. It was reportedly an “open secret” among friends at the university that they were a couple, and they would frequently be seen walking between classes together or even going food shopping together.
Picture that…the future King of England in Britain’s equivalent of Walmart with the future Queen of England.
During their time in school, they’d spend weekends and holidays at Sandringham or Highgrove, or even at the Balmoral estate – the preferred royal property of the late Queen Elizabeth II. But it was in 2003 that news of their relationship finally hit the papers, even though William spent the next month insisting that he was single.
Later in 2007, after the pair finally admitted they were together, William reportedly broke things off. The book explains how, as Kate approached her 25th birthday, he unexpectedly canceled plans for a party in Dundee, Scotland, for New Year’s Eve. William reportedly told Kate that they needed “space” and to find their own way, and during an emotional half-hour phone call, the pair both said that they were uncertain about their future.
…but look at them now. While Kate still undergoes treatment for cancer, the pair seem as happy and as unified as ever. Just this week, reports revealed how the princess plans to “do her duty’ when she returns to work, but that for the time being, she will continue to “put family first.”
We’re sure all of our readers will join us in wishing the royal couple and their family all the very best…
