Marjorie Taylor Greene Admits ‘Mistakes’ Over Congress Conduct

Firebrand conservative Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is typically unapologetic about how she acts, what she says and what she does in Congress.

Recently, though, the congresswoman from Georgia — who at one point in time was considered a possible choice as Donald Trump’s running mate — has seemed to take a more humble approach.

During a recent interview, MTG opened up about some heated exchanges that she’s had while serving in Congress. On multiple occasions, Greene has been aggressive and had some tense and heated exchanges with some of her colleagues.

The interview was given on a show hosted by Russell Brand. The comedian asked Greene whether she ever said anything and then later decided that she “shouldn’t have said that actually, that was a bit too intense.”

She responded:

“Yeah, lf course.”

One incident she brought up was a heated exchange that she had in May during a hearing of the House Oversight Committee. During that hearing, she hurled insults at some of her colleagues on the panel, while they did the same to her.

At a point during the hearing, Greene even told Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas that her “fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

Many other Democrats responded with outrage over those comments, led by New York Representatives Dan Goldman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Crockett didn’t remain quiet, though, apparently hitting back at Greene when she asked a hypothetical question about a “bleach-blonde, bad-built butch body.”

In her interview with Brand, Greene said all the members of Congress were just “charging at each other” at that hearing. What she added, though, was that the public only saw some small clips of the exchange, and weren’t able to see the 45 minutes that actually led to the exchange itself.

As she said:

“But, no one saw what led to that tipping point. And that’s usually the tough part, right is understanding why are they yelling at each other? What happened? Why did MTG just break and say things like this to people.”

Greene added that she typically only loses her patience after she feels that she’s been personally attacked, or someone does the same to Trump. Greene has long been considered one of Trump’s most ardent supporters.

As MTG said on the show about lashing out:

“It’s usually because I’m pushed and pushed, and I’m listening to them call Donald Trump ‘our orange messiah,’ or I’m listening to them personally attack me or they’re holding up my tweets or social media posts on X and they’re reframing my words and lying about what I said. And I’m having to sit there and take it and take it and take it.

“And, yes, in those moments I have lost my patience and just charged the hill and said things maybe in a way I shouldn’t have. But, you know, I’m human. I’m not without mistakes.”

Trump announced his vice president pick during the Republican National Convention this week as Ohio Senator JD Vance, passing over Greene — and many other people — in the process.
