On October 31, 2020, Hillary Clinton tweeted a clip of one of her speeches where she is seen accusing Donald Trump of being a Russian asset. The speech was delivered in Ohio in 2016.
Clinton noted that former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell concluded that Vladimir Putin controlled Trump.
Days before the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton declared in a speech in Ohio that the CIA’s Michael Morell, born near where the speech was taking place, believed Putin was using Trump to make him the Kremlin puppet. She said, “It seems to be working.”
She said that Donald has signaled to Putin that he will permit Russia to act as it pleases. Even worse, Clinton warned, the American intelligence community had revealed that Russia is orchestrating cyberattacks against the United States to sway the outcome of the upcoming election.
In an interview from April 2023, Freedom Caucus Rep. Matt Gaetz said that Mike Morell had a significant hand in creating the intelligence memo that incorrectly claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop contained Russian disinformation.
Gaetz stated in the interview that when Tony Blinken, who was speaking on behalf of the Biden campaign, called Morell, who wanted to be Joe Biden’s CIA director, he primed Morell, suggesting that the Hunter Biden laptop looked a lot like Russian disinformation.
Gaetz said that Morell said that this led him to become the mastermind of a scheme to draft a letter with the express intention of using the fabrication to help Joe Biden in the debate with an anti-Trump talking point.
Morell has been a partisan hack who weaponized the CIA unjustly for at least the last two elections.
In 2020, as in 2016, Morell and the other Deep State actors continued to play off the general fallacy that “Russia will do whatever it takes to get Donald Trump elected President of the United States.”
Many believe the Deep State will continue to utilize the same strategy against Trump in 2024.
