Disgraced Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Requests Dismissal of Lawsuit

Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit against him that was filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.

Jones’ suit alleges that Combs mistreated him sexually, including forcing the producer to participate in human trafficking and “grooming.” Combs’ attorneys deny the allegations and say Jones claims are “complete lies” and that they can prove it.

Combs filed the motion on August 26, saying the Jones suit was nothing more than a litany of “tall tales” and “theatrics” designed to generate negative media sentiment and force Combs into an expensive settlement with Jones. Combs’ lawyers say that Jones’ complaint is full of “legally meaningless allegations” and straight-up lies. They claim Jones does not have the details and dates and times of the alleged crimes.

One of Combs’ lawyers, Erica Wolff, said in a statement that the Jones lawsuit was “pure fiction.” She said her client never threatened Jones, nor “groomed,” assaulted, or trafficked him.

Jones’ suit also names Comb’s son and several of his associates, and claims that we worked with the rapper in both Miami and Los Angeles in 2022 and 2023. During those years, he claimed, Jones saw rampant illegal drug use and illicit misconduct carried out by Combs and the people around him.

Jones’ lawyer Tyrone Blackburn scoffed at Combs’ attempt to have the case thrown out, saying it was just a “billing exercise” made up by Combs’ “latest set of lawyers.” He said the legal team representing Combs just wants to get paid before the star is indicted, and then they’ll disappear and stop representing him as five earlier lawyers did.

He pointed out that neither Combs nor his son, Justin, have filed an affidavit defending themselves, while his client has signed one “under penalty of perjury.”

This is just the latest legal slam for Combs, who had his Florida and California homes raided by the feds earlier this year. The raids were part of an investigation into sex trafficking, though no charges have yet been filed against Combs.

This past May, a video surfaced from a hotel security camera showing Combs beating singer Cassie, who was his girlfriend and who he was grooming for stardom. The tape seems to back up Cassie’s allegations against Combs, but he could not be prosecuted as the statute of limitations had passed.
