Bill Maher Says Kamala Harris Likely Can’t Beat Trump

Even liberals are realizing just how terrible a candidate Kamala Harris is.

Bill Maher, the famously sensible liberal left-winger, told his audience in recent days that the election isn’t looking great for Kamala, and he even jabbed at Barack Obama.

At a glance:

  • Bill Maher suggests Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances in the 2024 election are faltering, with the Democratic Party struggling to rally Black male voters.
  • Maher mocked efforts to shore up support, highlighting Barack Obama’s recent criticisms of the lack of enthusiasm for Harris compared to his own campaigns.
  • Maher also pointed out polling challenges, noting Harris is trailing behind previous Democratic candidates like Biden in key battleground states.

HBO host Bill Maher expressed concerns over Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances in the upcoming 2024 presidential election during his Friday episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. He commented that it was troubling that the Democratic Party is struggling to secure support among Black male voters for Harris, particularly as an African American candidate.

“This is not a good sign,” Maher remarked, “when you have an African American candidate, you probably shouldn’t be having to shore up your support among Black men, but that’s what’s going on.”

Maher referenced recent comments by former President Barack Obama, who, during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh, voiced his frustrations with the lack of enthusiasm for Harris’ presidential bid compared to his own campaigns in 2008 and 2012. Obama directed his criticisms specifically towards Black men, implying that some may not be comfortable with the idea of a woman as president.

On his show, Maher poked fun at Harris’ running mate, Governor Tim Walz, being tasked with connecting with young Black men at a voter engagement event. He joked, “Who better to connect with young Black men than Tim Walz? Because apparently Michael Bublé was unavailable.”

Maher also noted that polling numbers aren’t looking favorable for Harris. He cited data showing Harris trailing behind where Biden was in 2020 and where Hillary Clinton stood in 2016 at this stage of the election. For instance, while Biden was seven points ahead in Pennsylvania at this point in 2020, Harris is currently up by just one point.

Maher’s assessment highlights the ongoing challenges Harris faces, particularly with key demographics and in crucial swing states as the November election nears.

Don’t take this as an endorsement of Trump, by the way. Maher still hates him, and even called him an “inveterate liar” this week.
