The Biden administration famously tried establishing a government “Ministry of Truth” to combat online misinformation.
On July 4, an injunction was issued by a Judge in the case of Missouri v. Biden, barring the Justice Department, FBI, Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and several other agencies under the Biden Administration from pressuring social media companies to suppress speech the government deemed objectionable.
The Biden administration appealed the Judge’s injunction to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, which granted a stay of the injunction. For the time being, therefore, the government and the social media sites may go back to the coordinated censorship measures that the Judge had criticized.
The opinion laid out the “substantial evidence” depicting what Judge Doughty called a dystopian scenario in which the government compelled Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media platforms to censor COVID-related content, among other content, like the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story. According to his assessment, “the United States Government appears to have acquired a function analogous to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth,'” which he compared to 1984.
The Constitution included the First Amendment to prevent the government from establishing a “Ministry of Truth” to censor information that runs counter to the government’s official line.
Meanwhile, in a series of tweets on social media, President Joe Biden spread false information regarding the questions asked of Republican presidential contenders at Wednesday night’s first primary debate. The video Biden shared was an edit of the discussion, which created a bogus set of questions being asked.
“Raise your hand if you’ll prohibit abortion,” “Raise your hand if you’ll reduce Social Security,” and “Raise your hand if you’re a climate denial” were some of the questions that Joe Biden posed.
Hypocritically, this is precisely what Biden claimed his Ministry of Truth was trying to combat.
His posting of an edited video designed to fool the public shows that his newly formed Truth Agency would only go after his political opponents.
Biden is a danger to the Constitution.
