Doug Emhoff, Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, has been accused of serial sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior during his time as a partner at Venable LLP’s Los Angeles office. According to an explosive new report by the Daily Mail, multiple former colleagues of Emhoff have come forward to accuse him of misogynistic behavior, favoritism towards attractive young women, and verbal abuse.
One former staffer anonymously recounted an incident where Emhoff allegedly bragged about telling a secretary to “get the f*** out of my office” and “put her in her place.” The accusations paint a troubling picture of his conduct towards women during his time managing the law firm from 2006 to 2017.

In addition, other employees at Venable LLP claimed that Emhoff regularly hosted men-only cocktail parties on Friday evenings and appeared to penalize female colleagues who didn’t respond positively to his advances. According to the report, he even required colleagues to share client fees with him.
These revelations follow earlier allegations from a former girlfriend, who claimed that Emhoff slapped her during a confrontation at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in France. Emhoff’s spokesperson has strongly denied these accusations, but the allegations have continued to circulate.
The Daily Mail report is part of an ongoing investigation into Emhoff’s behavior prior to his marriage to Harris in 2014, the same year he was promoted to West Coast Managing Director at Venable.
Harris has been silent on this so far – and with just a month left to go until the election, you can bet she’s going to say no more about it. Unless she’s, of course, forced to.
